Stories Of Motherhood and Parenting

  • What Do We Need In life?

What Do We Need In life?

I love going on holidays with my kids. Yes it’s a change from home and more shared responsibility with my husband, but it’s also the opportunity to spend more time with my kids and family in a relaxed setting as my mind isn’t thinking about a million things, like what to pack in the…

    Motherhood Musings: Part 2

Can We Stop Apologising for Our Kids and Our Role as Parents? Can we stop apologizing for our kids and what we can—or can’t—achieve because we hold the role of mother or parent? A few years ago, I found myself in a situation where I had two young kids who were often unwell. Both…

    Motherhood Musings: Part 1

Why Does Motherhood Seem to Define Our Entire Identity? Why is it that when we become mothers, this role can sometimes feel like it defines who we are entirely? Yes, motherhood is an important role in my life, but it is not the source of my identity. I still have a name. I still…

Why I Do This Work

I know how it feels to be pulled in many directions including caring for children, managing health issues (theirs and mine) and trying to find a way forward in work.

I see so many instances of women just “pushing through” because they “don’t have time to be sick this week”, or feeling like they need to hustle because rest is seen as a sign of weakness and lost productivity.

Too often women are told to just “push through” or “hustle harder.” But our bodies and our lives have rhythms. We need seasons of rest as much as seasons of energy.  And sometimes we need to listen to the inner voice which is asking or screaming at us to make a change.

That’s why I created Motherhood Today: a space where women can find calm, clarity, and flow,  not just in one part of life,  but across every aspect of your life.

My Approach

I blend:

Practical strategies to support you to create your own toolkit to manage work, home, health, and daily routines.

Nervous system care including simple ways to regulate, reset, and create calm in your body, so that brain fog and burn out are less likely to happen.

Feminine wisdom to encourage you to listen to your body’s energy and season, so you know when to push forward and when to pause, supporting you to live in alignment with your natural rhythms.

This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about supporting you to feel confident, connected, and capable of thriving through every season from motherhood to menopause.

  • Navigating the early years of motherhood
  • Living with hidden illnesses like endometriosis or chronic pelvic pain
  • Transitioning through perimenopause and menopause
  • Or simply feeling out of alignment, disconnected, and ready for change

Whether it’s one-to-one sessions, group offerings, or guided journals, the aim is always the same: to help you feel more grounded, supported, and in flow with your life.

How OT Can Support Early Motherhood

Motherhood brings huge changes to your body, mind, and daily life. Occupational Therapy can support you to:

  • Create rhythms that work for you and your family
  • Manage fatigue and the invisible load of early parenting
  • Build confidence in your new role
  • Learn simple nervous system resets to restore calm when the day feels overwhelming

How OT Can Support Hidden Illness

(endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, fatigue)

Living with hidden illness affects every part of life. Occupational Therapy can support you to:

  • Manage pain and fatigue while still doing the things that matter to you
  • Create your own tool kit of strategies to help manage flare-ups and energy dips.
  • Adapt work and home routines so they feel sustainable long term.
  • Learn pacing and nervous system regulation strategies to reduce burnout.

How OT Can Support The Transition into Perimenopause and Menopause

Perimenopause and menopause can bring challenges in energy, mood, and identity. OT can support you to:

  • Redesign routines that match your changing energy levels
  • Build strategies for memory, focus, and managing brain fog
  • Create daily and weekly rhythms that support your body rather than push against it
  • Explore identity and purpose as life shifts
  • Support you to explore your values and how this aligns with what you are wanting to achieve in your life

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Occupational Therapy different from counselling or psychology?

Counselling and psychology tend to focus on thoughts, feelings, and mental health. While Occupational Therapy can also focus on mental health, it also focusses on what you do each day and how to make it work for you. We look at your routines, roles, environment, and supports, and create practical strategies that fit your real life

Do I need a referral?

No, you can contact me directly. Some health fund rebates may apply.

Is Occupational Therapy just for children?

Pricing depends on the size and scope of the project. We offer both fixed packages and custom quotes based on your needs. Contact us for a free consultation and estimate. No, Occupational Therapy is for all stages of life. My focus is on women navigating motherhood, hidden illness, and life transitions, and supporting women to feel confident and aligned in their life, at every stage.
